Who We Are

We are youth in 7^th-12^th grades from Calvary, from nearby, and other friends that gather to share fellowship and seek to grow in our relationship with God together.
 

What We Do      

• Weekly meeting: We meet most every Sunday night (check the schedule) from 6-8pm (Engage Meetings). This is a great time for all of us gather together, to eat together (pizza!), to play together, and grow together.  Equip Meetings will be from 6 to 7:30pm towards the end of the month on Sunday, this group is for 9th-12th grade.

• Small Groups: We currently have two girls small groups (one for high
  school girls and one for middle school girls) that meet bi-weekly.

• Monthly Fun/Outreach Events: About once a month we try to get together to do something fun together in our community, providing an
  opportunity for fellowship and outreach to friends. In the past we have gone to sporting events, celebrated holidays together (i.e. annual Christmas party), or events like Laser Tag or Triple R’s Haymaze in the fall.

• Youth Retreats: In the fall, we have a retreat for our group, such as one we just had in the Outer Banks. In the spring, the high schoolers join other high school students from PCA churches in the commonwealth at a retreat call modgnik (kingdom backwards)

There are several reasons why we do what we do through our youth ministry. Most importantly, we are seeking to learn what it means to follow Christ in this world and how we can lead others. We also recognize the need to practice community and learn the value of corporate nature of the body of Christ. We are learning what it means to create a safe place for one another as the youth journey through an often difficult and trying time in their lives. Finally, there is value in enjoying God’s world and God’s people. Sometimes there is room for just having fun, but fun that carries a deeper connection to the gifts of God.
