Calvary believes that Christians are called to give liberally of themselves to the needy among us. We find that we are blessed and enriched through service to others. We seek to serve our community through various avenues. We collect a regular mercy offering, which we distribute carefully to people with needs, both within our church and our community. Distributions are made after a review by our board of deacons. Except in special circumstances, we focus our efforts on those living within a close radius to the church. If you are in need of help, please call the church office at 757.461.7043 with your request.
We also pass out Thanksgiving baskets to needy families in the community. At Christmas we support a local children’s home with gifts from the congregation. We have collected and delivered items that are needed by Union Mission, the local homeless shelter. Our food pantry is valued by the community. Calvary is always looking for new ways to be of service to others. |
